Sounds like he has some brain damage. Or maybe he's just not bright. Against the Japanese we had a clearly defined enemy.. at war against a country. Not at war against small militant groups that are mostly decentralized.
It's the same reason most consider the USA to be largely impossible to invade. ... a few men with guns can inflict massive damage when shooting a large target.

The Japanese were even more dedicated to "the Cause" than these half-witted Muslims.
Bombing them into obedience and submission was absolutely the only right choice.
He wasn't referring to the tactical situation in as much as he was answering the whiny "ideology" argument.
Damn, I wish we had more like him.
