saying the Rays made multiple moves at the deadline...

Interesting. Aside from Guyer and Moore? That's the only thing Houston seemed to be in on at the end was Rays starters

Moore for Chris Shaw. He's a nice power hitting lefty 1B.

Ortiz stings, but I like the move.

Definitely stings. Apparently there were concerns with his weight and injury history, but he was looking like a #2 pitcher. It also helps with the emergence of Yohander Mendez and Ariel Jurado. The Rangers traded a lot of young pitchers in the last hour though.

But the first All-star catcher since Pudge. And a guy that destroys in the playoffs. I'm happy.

Where is the one Rangers fan in here who always tries to act like Jon Daniels is an idiot?

He didn't dump Gallo (though from what Gallo showed, I doubt he could have traded him for refried beans much less magic ones).

And Lucroy, based on his demands to Cleveland (demanding to be named the permanent starting C), may be a whiner, and that could destroy the Rangers' clubhouse chemistry.

But Brinson's track was looking worse than Gallo's (at least Gallo could hit AA pitching) so getting someone to take him may be a blessing.

And Beltran is a solid addition. I know nothing about Jeffress but he can't be worse than some of the current bullpen crew.

So at this point, a B+.

Yes, saw that...I think the Mets were interested, but no word yet.

ETA: It's the Orioles.

meh, could be a solid lefty out of the pen or spot starter...not excited other than we basically got Neil Walker for nothing now

I doubt he messes up the Rangers clubhouse chemistry. Cut your losses. It was a great day for the Rangers

I'm surprised the Rays couldn't get more for Matt Moore if Shaw was the only player involved. He's a nice prospect but I figured Moore could fetch a few guys

From what I saw about Brinson that is a good move; Gallo could hit AA pitching (but not AAA or MLB) and Brinson was having trouble at AA. If Desmond re-signs no problem, and it looks like the Rougie re-set button worked on DeShields this year.

To be, clubhouse chemistry is important for teams not named New York Yankees or Chicago White Sox. If Lucroy comes here demanding what he did from Cleveland, then we've added sewage to the wine barrel. (Then again, he may have done that to send Cleveland the bird to which, if true, I say )

Again, Beltran is a solid addition, no clubhouse drama there. And I know nothing about Jeffress but the Rangers could use any bullpen help possible.

Why would the Giants trade Duffy? And why would the Rays want him?
