I funny live in the area, but I like the Ridge Bistro. Never a great experience, but never a bad nor disappointing one either. They often have a Groupon available.
Some friends go out of their way to drive from Metairie to Taste of Tokyo on Jefferson. I prefer Kyoto 2 in Elmwood (Citrus across from Coca Cola).

The real game changer for the area is the addition of a Chick-fil-A to Elmwood.
