Fleas

Got back from vacation last night and there are fleas in the house. I called the exterminator and he's going to come out and spray and bug bomb the place. They seemed to be confined primarily in the kitchen area which I thought was weird but then he asked if it was a split level house and it is. The front part including the kitchen is raised off the ground with the back addition being on slab. He thinks something crawled under the house that had fleas, died, they crawled up a pipe.
So before he comes to do the spray, is there anything I need to be doing? And I have a cat that is indoor only, what should I get to treat it (or should I just get rid of the damned thing which I'd love to do)?

Is this a sneaky way of saying you have protestors in your yard?

This happened to friends last month when they went on vacation. The neighbors feed stray cats and apparently, while they were on vacation and the dog was away, the strays hung out under the house. When they returned home, there were fleas all over. Bug guy bombed the place. Then, they had to vacuum everything like crazy. Fortunately, they hadn't put the dog back in the house when they found the fleas. He was at a friend's for the week, so they left him there for another day. Get your house bombed and take the cat to the vet for a good bath and whatever flea treatment the vet recommends while the house is being bombed.

Revolution topical for cats it works very well and I have had to switch up products on my cats because some did not work as well as they used too.
Also can try Capstar too but it's a single oral dose that will kill the fleas on the cat then the topical will give you 30 days.

Vacuum, shampoo your carpets with boiling water and pine sol, and spray with a water/vinegar mix.

Here is an old school helper. Sprinkle some Ionized salt around. Destroys fleas.
