Boat stability is determined by width not length.

If buying an aluminum boat you want it 48 inches wide at least. I have a Jon boat 16/48 and three kids it is extremely stable, but I went with a buddy on a 14/36 inch boat and it was very tippy.

Tiller steering opens boat up for kids and fishing for more than two people.

I use the live well to store gear and fish baskets to hold fish.

I used to fish out of a kayak but use the boat now to take the kids.

One of the best things I did. We go about once a week in the summer and fish in the morning and swim after lunch.

My kids have to wear life jackets at all times in the boat until they turn 16 and they are excellent swimmers.

I have a two stroke Mercury 25 hp from 1990 very inexpensive to run and very reliable.
