Prepare to be blown away as you explore the life-sized reconstruction of Noah’s Ark. Built according to the dimensions given in the Bible, Ark Encounter is a jaw-dropping structure you’ll want to bring your whole family to see. Ark Encounter is three exhibits in one—the massive Ark structure itself, the incredible craftsmanship, and the beautifully-fabricated teaching exhibits. The combination of all three will amaze and inspire you to think differently about the biblical account of Noah’s Ark.

quote:

Many of the animals that lived during Noah’s lifetime didn’t look much like the animals we see today. Prepare to have your expectations challenged by a host of incredibly lifelike sculpted animals, along with exotic live animals from around the world in Ararat Ridge Zoo. Plus, you’ll learn how Noah could have cared for all the animals and how the Ark was big enough to fit them all on board.

quote:

How Did All Those Animals Leave the Ark?

The animals probably left the Ark the same way they enteredthrough the door. Perhaps the flying creatures went out through the window or the opening made when the "covering" was removed (Genesis 9:13). The process may have taken some time, but eventually all of the animals were able to exit the Ark to spread around the globe.

How Many Kinds of Animals? Recent studies estimate the total number of living and extinct kinds of land animals and flying creatures to be about 1,500. With our “worst-case” scenario approach to calculating the number of animals on the Ark, this would mean that Noah cared for approximately 7,000 animals.

It's amazing how 4 men built that giant ark in 7 days without any machinery whatsoever.

My opinion of this hinges on whether not this was built by crazy true believers with a dream or hucksters counting on fundamentalist dollars. If it's just the crazy thing, I could imagine going to see what the frick they came up with.

You know, if I was ever in northern Kentucky on vacation.

Say what you want about Noah, but he advanced his sea-faring story along much better than The Mother of Dragons. And he did it all by himself!

The Ark Encounter, as sister attraction of the popular Creation Museum, is a Christian evangelistic outreach intended to bring the Ark of Noah’s day to life. Located in Williamstown, Kentucky (south of Cincinnati and 40 miles from the Creation Museum), the Ark equips visitors to understand the reality of the events that are recorded in the book of Genesis:

The global Flood did happen as an act of God’s judgment.
Noah and his family really did build a ship of the same size and dimensions as written in Genesis 6.
All of the animals brought by God to Noah did fit inside the Ark.
Noah and his family could care for all of the animals while they were on the Ark.
The Flood of Noah’s day was a worldwide catastrophic event that resulted in large-scale human and animal death, leaving behind many of the plant and animal fossils and landforms we see today.
God saved Noah and his family and the animals on the Ark, just as He had promised.

The Ark Encounter takes advantage of the latest environmental technologies to be good stewards of creation. Additional future phases for the attraction include a pre-Flood walled city, the Tower of Babel, a first-century village, a journey in history from Abraham to the parting of the Red Sea, a walk-through aviary, an expanded petting zoo, and other attractions that uphold the truth of God’s Word.

Seems legit.
