The only drawback is the commitment. Often times for the high demand resorts you need to book and pay 11 months out and there are no cancellations. You can always take out vacation insurance (which I have never done on any vacation ever and likely never will, but thats another topic) to protect yourself but for example, I am already booked and paid for my trip next May.

We are thinking about going the DVC point route next year for the Food and Wine Fest. How hard would it be to get something near the Boardwalk? Would I be paying out the wazoo? We originally were going to go with the Swan or Dolphin.
