My Steil dealer has always said Premium. You can immediately feel the difference using
Premium fuel has they start faster and seem to have more power.

I put the fuel+oil 50:1 premix in my Shindaiwa this weekend and it ran like a top.

Only if you shave the head to increase the compression add a hotter spark plug

I'm lucky that I have a non ethanol station less than a mile from my house. I almost exclusively purchase gas from there for everything including my truck.
