Educate yourselves, cishet shitlords.
And, MOST importantly:

1. The first Pride was a police riot. We hold Pride each summer to commemorate the Stonewall Riots of 1969.

3. Do not take pictures or Snaps of us without permission.
You’re going to see leather folks, drag performers, transgender people, non-binary people, nakedness, gender frickery and some wild outfits. We’re not here to be a spectacle for you. We’re here to celebrate with folks who are like us. Don’t post photos of us on social media as a way to be “edgy” or to show your “superior open-mindedness.” And don’t make fun of us on the internet. We don’t exist for your amusement.
quote:AMEN!
4. If your thought process is “gays are okay but I don’t get the whole trans thing…” …Don’t come to Pride.
And, MOST importantly:
quote:
6. You’re a guest in our space, act accordingly.

People aren't taking pictures of you because you're gay, they're taking pictures of you because you look ridiculous.
We do that with straight people too.

Holy frick. "Don't take pictures of us?" Can you imagine trying to enforce that?

I have absolutely zero problem with consenting adults dating, marrying, banging whoever they choose. However, it's hard to take any group seriously when they are parading around in ridiculous costumes (including but not limited to arse-less chaps). Maybe it's just bad marketing, but it comes across that "pride" in the gay community = promiscuity and lewdness
I don't care what this bozo's sexual orientation is, I'm not taking anything he says/does seriously.

we reserve Pride as the opportunity to express ourselves in the way that is most authentic to our community
Getting rogered up the bum by a man dressed in a rainbow dog suit while dressed as a flamboyant Indian is expressing yourself?

If youre in a public place, you dont get to determine whos a 'guest,' and whether they can or cannot take photos, i support gay rights, but thats just stupid.
