My two cents: If you're trying to accrue points and your company issues you a company credit card, ask if you can use personal funds and get reimbursed instead. My old company didn't have an issue with it because they pay credit card bills and reimbursements on the same time schedule. If that's the case, get an airline and/or hotel brand credit card and stay loyal to those brands. When I had that job my wife and I never paid for vacations (with the exception of spending money).

Back when I travelled, everyone was responsible for paying for all travel costs, and reimbursements were paid once a month. We stayed pretty much exclusively at Hilton properties. I had a Hilton AmEx, and for places that didn't accept it, a Hilton Visa. I only worked that job for 3.5 years, but accrued enough points for 6 nights in Hawaii, and 4 nights in NYC. I also cashed in a couple of nights in ATL for a trip we ended up having to cancel because we got sick, but one of my wife's cousins was able to use it so not all lost.

Only had to pay for flights on our trips. They also paid us an overnight travel bonus. You had to have 15 nights out of town during that year to qualify, but it was $50 per night. And it happened to pay out on our anniversary every year, so that covered flights, spending money, and everything else.
