The beer is going to disappoint you unless you get out of the city, all the pubs are chains and have the exact same 12 or so beers on tap.

The coolest thing we did was get up early one morning and walk around by Westminster Abby, then to Big Ben. Just looking down and seeing the dates carved into the sidewalk near the Abby was awesome, just after sunrise all the hoards of tourists haven't gotten out yet either.

The food was also largely forgettable, we went to a few high end places, a few places we thought looked cool just walking around, Along with eating at several of the pubs.

I would stick to pub, Indian and Italian food. Go to sale e Pepe in Knightsbridge great Italian food, dishoom for indian and then honest burgers.

Not true. Although you can't walk into a random pub and expect craft beer, especially in the tourist areas.

The Clerkenwell area of London is a cool little hood where you can get away from the tourist areas. Craft Beer Co is here as well as a lot of other cafes and bars.
