I missed the entire 1st half of the Bama/West Va game a couple of years ago because a storm hit right as the game started. It even knocked out the SD channel. It'd come back, and the storm would re-intensify and knock it out again. Then the power would blink which would reset the box which took forever to reload. It was maddening, even moreso because we had a crowd over to watch it.
Really the only time we lose signal is any thunderstorm with lots of lightning. Heavy rain will interfere with it a bit, but not as bad as lightning.
