Nope. "Outside the Lines" and other media forced them.

The convictions of Tevin Elliot and Sam Okadjkdh;;jksbvsjdbvi forced them.

The lawsuits from the victims forced them.

The aborted firing of Ken Starr and subsequent push back and threats to release the entire report forced them.

Some of their own very vocal fanbase is currently blaming the "liberal media" for forcing the BOR into firing Briles.

Make no mistake - the Baylor BOR wanted to throw Starr and many others to the wolves instead of Briles but they couldn't make it work.

Art Briles was not the man they wanted to throw onto the dumpster fire that is the Baylor Athletic Department but they were left with no choice after the horrible blowback they were getting earlier this week after they floated the trial balloon about Starr taking the fall.

I think Briles reeks of scumbag and I would certainly get a chuckle out of his firing, but I have yet to read anything that IMO warrants his firing. Maybe more will come out, I guess, but I don't see it.

I've already said I'm glad this happened. I was getting sick and tired of all this shite.

The crazy thing is that I've seen girls I went to school with posting on FB and Twitter how they stand with Briles and the football team. Honestly is pretty ridiculous and absurd just how tight knit the Baylor bubble is and how much of a blind eye has been turned.

Cordell Dorsey, an Abilene Cooper high school football player who was committed to play for Baylor, was arrested for alleged aggravated sexual assault of a child, an 11-year-old girl who claimed Dorsey molested her multiple times during the summer.
According to the arrest report, a sexual assault nursing exam supported the girl’s allegations
Dorsey's charges were later dropped, and was allowed to enroll at Baylor and join the football team in 2014 (transferred to ACU in 2015)

I think you over rate the power of the media. The only thing the Baylor BOR was worried about was liability.

There has been no mention, nor do I think there will be, of NCAA penalties. That is completely different from the Ohio State and Penn State situations in football, and Tennessee in basketball.

That would be the only definition of "forced" I'd be willing to accept.

Mentioning Ohio State in the same sentence with Penn State and what happened at Baylor is absurd. GFY.

Are you insane? Baylor is going to get rocked by the NCAA.

It isn't just a Baylor thing. This line of thinking is evident at numerous college campuses where athletics have grown into a monster.

i specifically pointed out earlier that this is the biggest stretch

1. the kid was not indicted

2. the indictment was from another county and therefore unlikely to be under the thumb of briles/BU
