Being the "official" mascot of Louisiana State University. Of course, he would still receive medical care. But let's face it....having a LIVE TIGER mascot is largely propaganda and designed to representative of our strength, etc etc. As to THAT role the mascot has....a sickly cancer ridden Mike VI is unable to fulfill that role. So, yes....perhaps he should retire and we get a Bengal Cub who, by the time Mike passes, would be an adult.

And how would this change his life in any tangible way? Would he think to himself, "Thank God they took that weight off my shoulders." Do you suppose he knows that he is the official mascot?
