Him not developing an outside shot has to do more with natural talent than it does with the amount of work he puts in.

I don't know what you're trying to say here.
The two are directly related to each other. In HS, his natural talent was so great that he never needed to put the work into developing skills to do well. But he should've known that he would eventually need those skills once the talent gap between him and everyone else shrunk.
