lol ppl itt that think you have to gain 60 lbs to pop out an 8lb kid

same shite happened to sarah stage

quote:

But Polites — who is due in September — would rather trust the medical community. “It’s truly shocking to read some of the comments regarding my health and that of my unborn baby, especially at a time where women are particularly vulnerable and can be more sensitive to bullying,” she told the Gold Coast Bulletin on May 13. "For the record, doctors have told me bub is healthy."
quote:

"For everyone saying my baby is small and malnourished scans are showing he/ she is actually 20% bigger than the average at this gestation," she captioned one photo.

Don't know why I'm being downvoted for pointing out that some women carry this way. Google Sarah Stage. She is a fitness model who was tiny like this during her pregnancy, and the internet went crazy over it.

Her baby was 9 pounds.

Pretty absurd there were instances where Sarah's own doctor was saying she was perfectly healthy, but people were still diagnosing her from behind their computers.

I mean, what the hell do you expect an extremely in-shape woman to look like when she's pregnant if she is continuing to eat healthy and work out in a safe way? Sarah Stage said she decided to get into the best shape of her life before getting pregnant. She had a clearly defined 6-pack before becoming pregnant. Once pregnant, she continued to eat healthy. So not really shocking she continued to look fit.

Are these women with extremely fit lifestyles supposed to go shove cheeseburgers down their throats to look more "normal" to others? Hell, I thought doctors encouraged fit women to continue with their active lifestyles during pregnancy..?

Yeah its actually a lot worse for the baby (and mother) when the mother gains a lot of weight.

She looks way too skinny for 6 months pregnant.

She should be gaining 25-35 lbs.

A woman her size shouldn't necessarily be 25-35 pounds bigger at six months. That would actually be a bit much. Maybe 30 pounds or so for the whole pregnancy, but a big part of that comes in the last 3-4 months.

I thought it was fat chicks that didn't gain much weight during pregnancy.

Further, if any of you are old enough , back in the 60s or so, they encouraged mothers to be NOT to gain much weight during pregnancy. Not really sure why that was the case.

You mean back when they told pregnant women they should smoke to ease the nausea?

Sorry I meant to put 25-35 lbs for the pregnancy.

While that is true, she still looks really little for someone that far along. As long as she is being carefully monitored by her doctor and taking her prenatal vitamins and getting enough nutrients for the baby. Also...prepregnancy pics weren't posted for a true comparison.

I certainly don't see pregnancy as an excuse to sit on your arse and pig out and if/when I ever do get pregnant...plan on working out as long as possible while I'm pregnant(while making sure the workouts are safe for baby though). Gaining too much weight can be dangerous for mother and baby(higher risk for gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, etc, etc). I guess with more and more women being super fit now...new guidelines will need to be made to cater to their unique needs.
