Are you looking to be social and meet people or just gel out?
NYC is a hell of a lot of fun for a weekend to just get away , have fun, and forget about life back home. It's also incredibly easy to make friends at the bars and there are loads of single ladies. It's even better if you have a friend or two living up there who could show you around.
On that note, do you have any friends living in places you haven't visited? Catching up with an old friend while boozing it in a new city is always fun.
If you're looking to spend a little more money, spend a week in Europe and visit a couple cities you've always wanted to go to.
If you're looking to relax, I'm sure a few people here can point you towards some nice tropical spots. I'd avoid staying in a large resort and instead opt for an Airbnb and just mosey around from beach to bar to bar.

Social drinking and flirting with strange women sound very appealing. I don't have any close friends in interesting places, lol. Just not sure about city vs. beach.
At this point, relaxation is secondary to the need for change of scenery.
