Lebron had better stats while clearly being more valuable. It was fun and new to vote Leonard ahead of Bron. Nothing more nothing less

Lebron didn't lead his team to nearly as many wins as Leonard did for the Spurs. It's league MVP, not who is most valuable to their team. IF you look at the narrative of the entire league, the biggest stories were obvi Curry and Golden State (1), and the emergence of Leonard offensively and the Spurs record (2). Had CLE had a better regular season Lebron would have beaten him out easily it was very close as it is. Lebron was on every ballot, Leonard was left off by a handful or 2 ballots.
