I don't understand why you are buying an enclosure.

You'd probably be better off with a fresh o/s install on the new disk (no more bloatware). Cloning usually ends up being more hassle than it's worth and there is nothing on the new computer that you can't download from the manufacturer's website anyway.

After you remove the 1TB hard drive, would you just toss it in the trash?

Cloning is really easy with the correct software, and very fast when the drive is new and uncluttered.
