I've noticed on my work vehicle, I drive a lot of highway miles, that it typically tells me to change it around the 8k-10k miles mark and I do that in about two months time. My truck sits in the driveway a lot, but when it's driven it is typically pulling a 20ft trailer with side by sides and 4 wheelers. The computer recognizes the strain on the engine and tells me to change it about every 5k.
