On King's insistence, his lawyer has agreed to use the same outdated legal arguments from the 1940s, 50s, and 60s over and over in the least creative ways possible because most judges are old, and old things make them comfortable and enjoy themselves.

LSU fired the wrong King.

I can't believe that Alexander still has a job. He has done nothing but bring negative press to the university at every turn.

This is an at will hire state. As long as no discrimination has occurred- what grounds could he have?

Wow! This guy, Talley looks like a real a-hole.

I don't care for how it throws the secretary under the bus.

I hope Roy King wins and the house is cleaned at the SOM.

King Alexander continues on his path of extirpating inveterate LSU faculty.

King is a duplicitous, vindictive individual that has been granted with far too much power and authority. He routinely goes behind the backs of certain individuals, formulates his own plans, enacts his own visions, and subsequently removes anyone that displays a modicum of resistance.

Today, the Chancellor of LSU-Alexandria "stepped down".

LSU administrative figures will continue to flee King's tyranny - assuming, of course, he doesn't terminate them via email first.

He made some federal claims in there, LSU can remove to federal court if they want.

Just finished reading Roy King's petition / suit.

King makes claims that seem very easy to to prove with corroborating evidence. If he proves his case, LSU is a sinking ship because the tone at the top is terrible. This would further erode the leadership's continued chicken little stance on budget issues.

If this is true - it is very sad for my alma mater.

How is it literally always Jill Craft? Is she the only plaintiff's attorney left in Baton Rouge?

IMHO, I think it was a mistake for LSU to name Roy director in the first place. TGBTL took a clear step back from what it used to be, under his direction. I don't mean that as a slight to Roy because I think his strengths lied in his interaction with the band members and in his capacity to support the band's direction--"Director of Bands" wasn't a good fit for him just as much as he might not have been a good fit for the position. The bands clearly needed to move in a different direction, but LSU painted themselves into this corner and clearly manufactured their "reasons" for dismissing him in a chickenshit way. They should've just owned the decision to move on, from the start.

Having some insight into LSU's inner workings, I'd add that the SOM is dysfunctional as frick, HRM are underhanded chickenshits in exactly the way that this is playing out (I'm aware of other dismissals that mirror this very, very similarly), and the whole university has problems of this manner on every scale.
