i was hoping to see multiple birds at one feeder but too much fighting goes on and one dominates. Any suggestions besides putting out more feeders?

One bird can guard one feeder. The only answer is a combination of multiple feeders and more hummingbirds. Make sure and put the feeders within sight of each other and about 10'-15' apart. When the migration begins in your area, this strategy will maximize the number of birds at any one feeder.

Adding nectar producing plants will help keep more hummingbirds in your yard but it won't necessarily help in getting multiples at a feeder. Some plants attract hummingbirds so well that the birds will actually ignore the feeders when the plant is producing.
