Here are all of the ingredients

Cooking on the stove

I have to chop up the carrots

Add the peas

chop up the chicken

add the chicken to the pan

mix

now its time to eat. the bowl view

package it up and put it in the freezer

This is about a month's worth of food. I have been doing this every month since my dog had a bought with pancreatitis. Vet told me to put him on a bland diet. I dont add any seasoning. I alternate between oats and brown rice every month. He tears this shite up. He absolutely loves it.

Way to make me feel like an arse hole with what I feed my dog.

But seriously, your dog eats better than most people.

I've been considering going to "real" food for my dog. The dog food I was buying was ~$40/bag. Just found another grain-free that I switched to for $20/bag, but I'd really prefer homemade food. I assume he gets all the nutrients he needs doing this?

What you're doing is awesome if it's working good...Hill's prescription ID lowfat has really been a savior for my dog after he had pancreatitis. And as an added bonus, he's not had any diarrhea in the year that's he's been on the ID food.

Depending on ypur grpcery store, they may be able to order youcases of chicken backs for abput .29 a pound.

We fed real food for a while: did yams and leg quarters with brown rice. We stopped because one of the dogs will top out close to 200lbs. That's an expensive feed.

We treat our dogs with bread and cheerios.

I wholeheartedly applaud the natural dog food and such, but I question your true dedication to your fur baby. If you really cared, you'd smoke all the ingredients in lieu of spices.

Is there any other veggies you have tried or do you just stick to carrots & peas?

My local Costco has a cooler with Deli Fresh dog food. A 6lb bag was $20.
