Well since the first post was what I came to post...
Sullivan's death was so deserved. Man I was livid in the theater when Costigan got shot. I was thinking who the hell? They just had an unknown person kill the main character. But then seeing Dignam with his shoes covered and the gun in his hand, it made everything else worth while.
Great movie begining to end, easily rewatchable too.

It's been a long time since I have been so engrossed by a character's well-being and the outcome of a plot. Very few movies that are 150+ minutes can hold my attention so firmly, especially when the primary basis of the plot is character development and not just the hollow action sequences so abundant in epic or fantasy films. It was just a fun and captivating work that only reaffirms Scorcese's status among Hollywood royalty.
