No, I use RO, but even when I used BR water I didn't acidify.

The mash already has minerals and enzymes that will act as a buffer against pH changes. So even though you are sparging with 8.8 pH water it's only going to change the mash pH so much in the time it takes to collect your wort.

I do try my and keep the mash below 170F when sparging, but that's just habit and not from experiencing off flavors as a result of high sparge temp.

Did you notice a big jump in quality going from BR Water to RO? I treat my water with salts and acidify. I figured that would negate any off flavors form the water source.
