I don't get why they couldn't have just stuck with an Asian (or a Hispanic from the later shows) as Rita.
Nobody is going be like "Well, I didn't have any interest in Power Rangers but then I heard Elizabeth Banks is in it and now I can't wait!"

It looks like Jason David Frank noticed the green and gold aspects of the costume as well. 
Let's wait and see.
If you know anything about the original story, you know that Rita creates the The Green Ranger. This will give them more of a connection. I fricking love that idea.

Why do I have the feeling that the evil green ranger is going to be Rita turned good similar to how the villain in Power Rangers in Space became a ranger in the next season.
