The first ie a Winchester model 1873 original octagon barrel 44 Magnum and I have another with a 26" barrel same style along with a model 1894 octagon barrel that's a 32/40 caliber
All three were left to my brother and he wants me to help find a buyer.
Question is where do i start

I wouldn't sell. Maybe your kids or your brothers kids may want them. It didn't cost you anything. You'd probably regret it if you sold them.

But them from him, don't let them out of the family. You will regret it.

they are damn near worthless nowadays in those calibers. I'll give you $20 to take them off your hands

I hear and understand all the don't let them go comments, but they aren't mine to say keep. I did recommend that but he is hell bent on selling and needs the money

He was thinking on bringing to the gun show in Lafayette this weekend

Your grandfather would kick his arse if he were still around.

The problem isn't affording them. I have ZERO interest in a gun or guns I can't use

Sounds like your brother was the favorite.

And if that interest ever sparked, you'll be very upset you let these get away.
I think it's a perfect opportunity to protect the family belongings, begin researching the rifles and possibly discover a brand new hobby/collection. Those are some fine firearms.

They buy them and give them to his kids when they are old enough. Especially if those guns have been in the family for a long time.

I agree totally Clyde. They have ZERO sentimental value to me because it isn't my families belongings.
This is just a deal I'm trying to help my brother on.
If I had an additional 7-10 grand laying around for things I have ZERO interest in I would consider it.
