Amid 12.6 million budget shortfall from state revenue.

UND has had a baseball program since 1956.

quote:

The cuts in the athletic department resulted because UND needs to trim approximately $12.6 million from its budget as state revenue forecasts are lower than expected due to falling oil and commodity prices.

Baseball has been played continuously since 1956 and the sport has roots at the school dating back to 1889. Men’s golf has been played every year at UND since 2008.

The cuts will affect seven student-athletes and one coach in golf and 29 student-athletes and five coaches in baseball, according to the school’s website.

Can I blame the Lakota's for this one also? They would not share their cigarette and casino money probably.

In all seriousness, how much has this mascot thing cost them? They could have sustained but of course the NCAA went after them even though...

They are why I hate the ncaa with a passion.

ND must change their mascot RIGHT NOW or they can't play.

Meanwhile, FSU and Illinois have more money so they are A-OK.

Hell, Illinois even has Fighting in the name.

typical left wing two faced shite to run over somebody they can bully and back down from someone they can't
