I'm gonna get hate but Times Square. Trip with my 15 yo daughter ... want to be close to Broadway plays, etc. I know it's the touristy thing to do but it'll just be us and I'd like to feel safe wherever I go. This will be our first time there alone -- maybe next time I'll venture out.

Do Laguardia. You don't want to be schepping a large suitcase that a 15 yo will pack from terminal to train to penn station to subway to the few blocks to your hotel just to save twenty bucks.

LGA and JFK are both easy enough. I prefer to take black car service to and from the airport. It's not much different over a taxi and they're waiting for you at the airport. I've stayed at several hotels in Times Square, but I always recommend Double Tree because it's a good mix of value, size, and location. I'm bringing my 11 y.o. daughter and 15 y.o. son this summer. I use hotels.com for everything.
