those dont really break enough to be a slider, imo. looks more like a 2 seam fastball or a cutter

Because Escobar is a great player and I like watching great players play instead of sitting on the DL because of roid head douchebags "sending a message".

Strike him out with 3 straight heaters high or inside the ZONE. F the defenseless BS.

We won't ever agree though man, pat yourself on the back for being old school but when its happened to you, if its actually happened to you, and you feel the same way, props to you for having such big balls and being so old school.

That ain't me though. I'm also a big pussy millennial, so that could explain it.

Royals manager Ned Yost said post game that no man alive could hit the three sliders that Syndergaard threw to Morales: Ned Yost on these sliders: "There's not a man on this earth that I believe could hit any of those pitches." LINK — Rustin Dodd (@rustindodd) April 6, 2016

Yost added, "I don’t think I have ever seen a 95-mph slider. George Brett was in here and I asked him if he could have hit that, and he said no way."

Damn. Struck a nerve, huh?

I'm not old school, I just try not to get upset about (a) shite that has nothing to do with me and (b) petty shite like this. But you do, and that's your decision. Good luck with that.

ETA: Did you write an open letter to Syndergaard? Because if you didn't, you should. Tell him how mean he was and how you just don't appreciate what he did.

I read a good article on it this morning. A slight change to the grip, holding the ball further up in your hand, and cutting it with your fingers as opposed to breaking it with your wrist. I'll try to find the article. It's closer to a cutter, but with more slider movement at a higher velocity.

This. My pitching coach tried to teach me it in high school but I didn't throw it hard enough to be effective :-(

You calling me out for my "hatred" certainly checks both of those boxes.

We can go round and round can't we?

And I don't think he's "mean". I think he's a douchebag. Big difference.

Me calling you out for being a big baby certainly checks those two boxes, but it certainly doesn't mean I'm upset.

Which was the entire point.

That you seem to have missed.

Yea, I mean his 2015 postseason line was really laugh worthy. Along with his gold glove.

And I'm not a Royals fan either.

Ok cool? You win the chillerest least hater award I guess? Pat yourself on the back or whatever it takes

Still doesn't change the fact I think Synd is a tool. Glad you wasted all that time typing?

If you've never backed a batter off of the plate by going high and tight, you have no business in a pitcher-based discussion IMO...

I don't have a dog in this fight BTW

Bro, how many high school innings you got bro?

And I guess it depends on your definition of "high and tight". I felt like it was straight at his head, and I don't appreciate that. He didn't "back him off", Escober had to hit the dirt. Its different IMO. If that makes me a pussy, so be it I guess.

Just dropping my opinion on an anonymous message board, no different than the other "get off my lawn" fellas that happen to feel opposite.

At ease gents.

It was an incredible performance. Royals strike out the least in the MLB and he had our hitters looking silly up there.
