Fangraphs podcast is the GOAT. Carson Cistulli is the best. I love his episodes that are off-topic. The fantasy podcast is great as well.

I like to look at their player pages and leader boards. I do not read their articles enough.

I could listen to Carson and Dayn Perry all day. I miss Kiley because he was so knowledgeable and they had great chemistry. Its such a hidden gem. I'll cry if Carson ever goes away, luckily he doesn't seem to have the motivation for much else.

Same. I wonder if he'll ever get his tiny house built?

ETA: I found my sig quote from looking up a guy him and Dayn Perry talk about.

I never listen to the podcasts, but Carson's RF positional preview was one of the best things I've read all year.

StrongBackWeakMind was arguing yesterday that he hated all the unwritten rules in baseball and pitchers taking matters into their own hands by throwing at batters when they feel like they have been slighted.

I think at the end of the day this dickwad StrongBackWeakMind is just a contrarian trolling you.

I'll check that out this evening. FanGraphs can't get through my work filters for some reason.

No surprise but it's all good. I'm not triggered.

Synd is a sick pitcher, no doubt about it, I just think he's a tool. Not sure why that is so disagreeable.

Pretty sure a lot folks out there would agree. Maybe not everyone, or even the majority but a lot of people thought it was a BS move to start the game.

This is what I said yesterday.

How does that contradict what I've said in this thread?

It especially sucks since I've been using advanced stats as a means to teach myself to use Excel, and I can't read their explanations and methodology for a lot of the stats I end up calculating.

He doesnt even realize why snydergard threw at Escobars head.

He is a clown show of a poster. His comments in here to you directly contradict his BS yesterday in the Harper thread. In fact, his message sounds very similar to your own in this thread.

How is a pitcher throwing a pitch not even intended to hit the catcher's mitt to "send a message" any different than a base runner taking out a fielder with a slide?

You can't be serious. It's essentially the exact same shite, a dangerously unnecessary means to an end with one party being essentially defenseless. Ironically the one you're choosing to be against serves a substantial on field purpose most of the time.

You can't be serious man?

I agreed with you that it's dangerous.

I was mocking you for taking it so personally.

But for the sake of argument, the intent of the pitch is to not hit anything. The intent of the slide is to run full speed and jump into a player's knees.

All I'm saying is that if I'm a pitcher in MLB, and I want to send a message, I'm going to do it... What's the worst that can happen? Fines? Benches clearing?? There are consequences to breaking the 'unwritten rules' of baseball, you just have to be prepared to do so... I guarantee that's in the back of his head the next time he steps in the box against me (assuming I throw 98+ MPH gas )

What's the back story on those two? Why'd he buzz him like that?

Snydergaard threw at escobar's head because his sensibilities were offended.
