No one has any idea what will happen this summer. Could be a ton of trades, could be quiet. The FA class sucks though.
Regardless of the pick, the plan needs to be let Gordon/Anderson walk (unless they are willing to take healthy discounts), and use the cap space to sign more NBA rotation quality guys. With Holiday/Davis and Evans, they just need more functional pieces to help out. Draft BPA (non PF edition) at whatever spot and go from there.
I doubt Batum comes here and I don't think it's wise to spend all the cap space maxing him (or Barnes) out. That team still would not be going much of anywhere. Guys I'd look at who would be "cheap" (thinking under 10 figures annually):
Courtney Lee (solid starting caliber NBA 2 who's played big games but never stuck anywhere)
Evan Turner (6th man/25MPG off the bench do a bit of everything guy)
Jared Dudley (wing/small ball depth and vet familiar with Gentry)
Mirza Teletovic (Anderson replacement at an anticipated much cheaper deal)
Terrence Jones (RFA, but coming off a horrible year. Maybe get a big discount on a guy who has flashed ability)
A backup big with some athleticism/rebounding ability
Nothing too exciting, but I don't see many exciting moves for the Pels. If they honestly believe in Davis/Holiday, then they have to work to find NBA level pieces that fit around them, while holding onto draft picks to replenish the roster. I doubt they blow it all up, so this is the best way to move back into the playoff discussion and also have some pieces that can grow with the core.
