Not sure how this happened, but a phone number that I've never seen or been associated with was somehow linked to my Chase account. I noticed this today as I logged on from a new browser and received the two step verification process, which included an option for a verification code sent to a number I'd never seen before. Has anyone experienced anything similar to this before?

I called Chase customer service, and they were not helpful at all. The lady really didn't seem to understand why this concerned me and just removed the number from my account. I've changed my password but am not sure what other steps to take. Any advice or info from someone who has experienced something similar would be great appreciated.

Just set up alerts if some transaction happens.

So if something unauthorized goes, you know immediately then can report it

You sure it's not you're CPA or something? Tax time and all.

My CSP got compromised yesterday. It's since been shut down, but I have no clue where they got it from.

That's about all she can do.

Just change your password and keep an eye out for unauthorized transactions.

I'd put an initial 90 day fraud alert on my credit. Was the number local? Had this happen to me on a discover card. They added a new address and phone numbers to the account, then cashed in the cash back bonus I had built up on gift cards to be mailed to the mailing address that was added (got that restored). Eventually it led to whoever did it trying to open other cards.
