If your kids are pretty young, I would suggest Forbidden Island over something like Pandemic. My 6 year old son loves it but my 4 1/2 year old daughter is still a bit too young. She tends to check out about half way through when we play.

Flashpoint is definitely too old for my daughter but my son likes it on the theme alone. However, I end up giving him a lot of guidance on his decisions since he hasn't quite grasped the fire spreading mechanics and how to think ahead. I need to give it another go with him, though. We haven't played it in several months and he'd probably be better at it now.

I've also heard good things about Escape: The Curse of the Temple but I haven't played it myself yet.

I enjoy this game a lot, but there are people I know who don't because it's "too stressful."
