My Aussie Shepherd, who is 4, was a copperhead killing machine. I trained her to kill them, but to ignore non-venomous snakes (she'll give them the once over, but won't kill them).

Ex-wife in residence almost steps on a copperhead. My dog ignores it, actually rolls on the grass nearby so ex goes back into the house.

Ex would know what a copperhead looks like but is crazy. Couldn't smell it (dog's way of discerning venom v. non-venom)? Home turf issue? Being at home with ex all day ruining the dog?

This is a dog that would go berserk over copperheads.

You still live with your ex-wife? Is it awkward when a dude shows up at your door to take her out for the night?

Sounds like your dog is giving a big middle finger to your ex. Give her a treat.

If you are smart you'll train that copperhead to kill your ex

Did you train your dog to let copperheads bite your ex wife? Are you a hit man for hire?

Live-in ex-wife has trained dog to kill you. It's just a matter of time.

Ex-wife or snake?

Oh yeah, need pics of ex-wife in order to full evaluate the problem.

You trained that dog damn good to let a poisonous snake get close enough to nearly take out the ex-wife.

And how, exactly, did you do that?

My guess is this is one of those 60% of the time, it works every time sort of things.
