Fumble stats? Are you being serious?
Is LSU deflating balls, b/c they've had a RB fumble a ball like 3 times in the last 10 years. There was some ridiculous stat they had going not that long ago without fumbling.

No they're deflating them because it is easier for the QB to grip. Every QB that is any sort of good wants a deflated football.
Pump them to 18-20 overnight then right before deflate to 12.5. Then take the ball boy/manager to deflate one more time during game.
