That's kind of bullshite. Did they have a warrant...and if so, why was the warrant for drugs and weapons when they are investigating a sexual assault?
Am I wrong, I thought they could only search for what was specified.

not if the other contraband is in plain view. If it was just lying around it's fair game.

They can only search for what is specified but if they find other contraband while searching they are allowed to seize said contraband and charge him for it.
