Is Golden Coral the worst place in the world to wait tables?

I've been to GC one time in my life. It's when they started serving breakfast. They still screwed tha up.
Anyway, it seems this place would be the worst place in the world to wait tables.
Customers are there to save money to begin with, so you know they are going to be cheap on the tip.
All the waitress does is bring drinks (I guess), I don't remember an open drink station, where the customers get their own.
Anyone here ever work at GC?

Considering it's one of the worst places to have a meal (I'm sorry, I meant stuff yourself with heavily processed shite), I would say that waiting tables there would be a bad gig.

Any airport restaurant has to be worse. People are pressed for time and you deal with some jerks.

But, the prices at airports are so high, even 15% tips, you will do well, and the table turn over is fast.

I don't think it'd be that bad, you just roll around filling up dr pepper's for fatties. No food to worry about and you can't get their order wrong.

It probably isn't a lot of work. You're just filling drinks and clearing empty plates. You don't get shite for tips, but there aren't a lot of steps of service.
A chain place like Applebee's is probably the worst. Non-tipping customers and a lot of work.

It's got to be a bitch kitty to work at an airport. You know they make you park out at BFE, there's all that security you have to go through to get to work, and many of your customers are in a horrible mood because air travel sucks so much

Yeah I would thank so

I'm thinking red lobster or cheesecake factory would be the worst.

Yea I bet someone is really going to admit to working at Golden Corral

Airport food is overpriced and most tables turn over in like 20 minutes. You probably make a good bit of money even if you get stiffed a few times.

Applebee's
I waite tables there in the mid 90's. It did fricking suck. I stayed about 3 weeks. I was managing a restaurant in Atlanta (Cheyenne Grille) which prepped everything fresh every morning. It was a great steak restaurant.
Move back to BR, couldn't find a management position, so took a wait position at Applecheese on Airline & Old Hammond (bad location even back then). My first day there, I see the kitchen "prepping" for the day, opening cans, defrosting chicken, and opening bags of lettuce.

This is a misnomer. That trough charges nearly $15/piece for garbage. Living here in Lafayette I can spend an additional $25.00 for my family at Social for quality dining.

What's involved in waiting tables at Golden Corral? Anything besides drink refills?

I don't even think you bring bread to the table. At Ryan's, there's the bread and those $3 steaks they sell

And their parents took them to eat there because they were poor growing up. They all pulled themselves up by their bootstraps. Starting with nothing, they all got 4.3 GPAs, 32+ on ACT, full ride to a Flagship, and graduated in three years Summa Cum Laude. All that by taking only the minimum of humanities/A&S courses(because those courses don't make you "job-ready"). Upon graduation--debt free, of course--they started their dream job at six figures, married a girl more beautiful than Kate Upton (who could also kick Ronda Rousey's arse), bought a $60k F150, and a 3500 sq/ft "starter" home.
And now, just a mere 3 years after graduation, they all still fit into their 34 inch jeans.
Baw.
