I do think Demps can be defended some based on Davis's unexpected growth on offense.

No one was seeing him as a 24ppg scorer, even after his excellent rookie year. His jumper had promise, yes. No one really expected his otherworldly touch and ability to finish awkwardly at volume. In that light, getting some more offense made some sense, in theory.

Rolo provided some low post offense that we haven't seen since. I honestly would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when Derps told Monty about sending out Greivis and Rolo to sign Tyrec. Greivis at half the price, could provide half of what Evans does, while also not requiring you to get rid of your only competent center.
