I would not call a blog's fantasy blockbuster "possible."

So, Norris Cole would be the starting point guard when we lose holiday?

I do it, I'm high on Aaron Gordon.

While I love Jrue and what he brings... sign me up for this. Lance contract next season is a TO (so bye bye) while you get Dipo for this and next before new contract and Gordon (not a huge fan but he's improving) for this +2.

Good grief- Our outside shooting would be so awful if we did that deal.

saw this one a few days, and even I wouldn't repost it! best thing about this thread is finding out Jester likes Karl Pilkington.

I don't think Cavs get enough in this deal for what they are giving up. RYNO isn't worth that much value, and Tobias Harris? He's so up and down.

Pels and Magic would dominate this trade if it occurred, love what the Pels would get out of it with 2 young guys to go with AD for the future. Both are playing good ball currently just on a bad team. They would fit well with the pels.

Magic win as well getting Blake Griffin and taking a "little gamble" on Jrue Holliday, but worth it I think for the value they are getting

Are the Magic sending us a pick? It just feels like we're the losers in this deal. The 2 players we get are athletic, but they can't shoot at all. I can't wait to see the quadruple teams on AD when we trot out a lineup of Cole/Dipo/Gordon/AD/Asik. Maybe we're getting OK talent level back considering the youth, but seems like terrible fit which has been a big part of this build's problem.

Cole would be our PG for the remainder of the season obviously, which he pretty much is since he is starting and has been in that role and playing more min than Jrue(coming off the bench)

I think if we could pull a vet guard or even draft a PG in the upcoming draft we would be helping ourselves.

Even if you snagged Steph it wouldn't work. You'd still be building with the plan being to have 2 non shooting wings start plus probably Asik. They'd just have 2 guys on Steph, 3 guys clogging the paint around AD. It'd be a nightmare. I'm not even kidding. Steph and AD sounds like a tremendous foundation in theory, how do you screw that up? By shackling them with 3 offensive non entities.

Meh don't know how steph got brought into this, but he doesn't belong anywhere near this. Let's just focus on enjoying the rest of AD's contract before he rolls out like CP3 did...

Victor Olandipo is a nice piece and would be a slasher who could create, yes not so much shoot but he's still under the age of 25 and can work on becoming a better shooter.

Gordon would be a nice athletic 4 that will slide next to AD and allow AD to play the 5 giving us a "smaller" looking lineup that could run with anyone.

Still a long road ahead of this group in NOLA. The attempt and gambles the front office has made to go after younger talent was bold(Reke, Jrue, Gordon)...but they all are hurt all the time. If not hurt we could see what they were really working with, and if not work we could move some of those pieces, but you cant move a broken player.

And yes, as a pels fan watching CP3 throw lobs to AD last night just had me wishing it would happen in NOLA, but its more likely for those 2 to team up elsewhere before nola in reality.

Why is Oladipo a non shooting wing?
He has basically the same shooting percentages as James Harden this year.
Harden:
50/41/36 Paint/2's/3's
Oladipo:
46/40/35 Paint/2's/3's

Oladipo has gotten better shooting each year he's been in the league. Who's to say he can't keep improving and be a 40% 3 point shooter?

I can't say i've watched him play much, but looking at stats, i don't see how he's not a good shooter.

Calling Dipo a bad shooter is a stretch... he is shooting 34.6% from 3 on 4.9 shots per game. Seen a steady climb each season from 3 and FT.

Year 1 32.7 / 78.0
Year 2 33.9 / 81.9
Year 3 34.6 / 83.7

Now, he's not gonna be an elite shooter but if he continues to progress and gets around 37/38 with his defense/athleticism, that is a legit 2 guard in the NBA.

Gordon has improved from 27.1% year 1 to 29.9% year 2. He's likely best off bench playing the 3/4 like he does for Orlando right now. Still, can play in an uptempo system and seems to be improving. Would be a legit pairing next to AD when he moves to the 5.
