Try different cloning software. Make sure you have it set to whatever lets your HDD boot (IDE or AHCI) of course. Some cloning software has trouble cloning UEFI/GPT drives and making them bootable. Macrium reflect doesn't have that problem.

Is this what you suggest? Will the cloning program wipe the SSD clean before trying to reclone?
