how is it on him to lose the game when the right tackle was bull rushed the entire game. the right tackle was closer to the ball than cam because pushed back into the QB cup and knocked to the ground. the entire offensive lineman got beat up and you see what new england did with their offensive line coach after they loss to Denver. They fired him. How many QB after throwing an interception actually put forward an effort to make the tackle some just stand there. Cam took a beating because of his sorry offensive line and mainly the right tackle. Its easy to judge when you are not the one playing the game but if you were in that situation you probably would have checked out of that game long before it got to that point. I am not a Carolina fan but i dont think one man should have to shoulder the blame for loss. Its a team game and they win and lose as a team. The team is as good as its weakest link and the weakest link was their two offensive tackles on Sunday.

Cam Newton is statistically one of the worst QBs in the NFL when under pressure. It showed big time. He doesn't set his feet and holds the ball when under pressure, and depends on his athleticism to escape. Anyone who's watched Denver this year knew they were going to get great edge pressure. It is what they do.
quote:
Newton’s passer rating is a meager 71.1 (six TDs, six INTs) under pressure this season, and when he is forced to scramble, the former Auburn star has not been a dynamic threat this season. Newton was forced to scramble 58 times this year, converting 29 of those into runs for 222 yards; but as a passer when scrambling, he has completed only nine passes for 126 with no touchdowns, one interception, and only two passes of 20 yards or more.
And more:
quote:
. The Falcons defense got the better of him, and highlighted a potential Achilles heel of Newton’s: His passer rating drops by 53 points when facing pressure, compared to the 27-point drop the average NFL quarterback experiences.
That same, great offensive line protected him well all season, allowing him to have the year that he had. I don't see you giving them the credit for his good play. All the credit goes to Cam in your little brain, but none of the blame.
Brees, Brady, Rodgers, etc wish they had his protection this year. Certainly would have finished higher than 24th in passing.

So he Checked out of the biggest game of his career because his team didn't play exceptionally well?
So he's captain of the ship and decided to abandon ship instead of staying on it.
