I had a friend who did this and said it was boring as shite. 90% of the job is sitting around in your car trying to catch some workman's comp fraudster cutting his grass or something. It's not glamorous.

exactly what I thought...sitting in a car for a week trying to catch someone's spouse cheating would not be a good job in my mind...

It still works like that yes, but you'd be surprised just how often people bust themselves for fraud these days via their Facebook and Twitter posts.
