They played him at DT and DE, he failed at both. He has had all the potential in the world, played at two different weights in his career, and still couldn't get the light to go on. Who knows, he might just flake out after getting a decent pay day. I know I wouldn't want us to re-sign him this offseason based on his his last "2 years of potential" has looked.

Look at it this way, they feel comfortable with parting with Hicks since they had Davison.

Hicks: 13 games, 21 tackles (9 solo), 3 sacks, 1 FR, 2 STF. Playing a decent bit of snaps.

Davison: 16 games, 18 tackles (10 solo), 1.5 sacks, 3 STF. As a backup/rotational player

Then he got traded and it immediately came on. Amazing coincidence.
