I've read the threads and one thing I haven't seen pointed out is Scott's line at Zachary. According to the game early in the year against Calvary, Zachary's OL averaged 6'3" 295lbs. That's a massive OL for high school and Scott didn't have any issues throwing over them.

Just something I don't think most knew about his OL. I love that LSU finally gave this young man an opportunity.

Height did not hurt Blake Sims, same height and weight.

Won't have issues throwing if all you do is run.

But yeah, I see your point..it's all over this board.

Might be the second most talented QB in the class next to Shea, but will have many more weapons than Shea. This young man is going to win this team a national championship, if not multiple.

Height won't be an issue. The WR's we are bringing in are all like 6'6" so they will be able to be seen over the OL.

Height won't be an issue if you move him around the pocket. He may have problems if you have him stationary throwing over massive lineman.

He's gonna have to move.

In the mid 90's a freshman out of NOLA named Herb Tyler replaced an injured Jamie Howard ( I believe against Auburn) and from that day on his record at QB was 26-5 over the next 31 games - Herb was a whopping 5'10". Scott is a lot faster than Herb.

I like the fact that he is the tallest QB commit we have.

All joking aside, the kid was hoping for an LSU offer and most certainly will take it. And I think the best part is, he will get a true shot to play given our QB circumstances.

I think he's more Russell Wilson than Drew Bress mold, and more importantly, I hear the kid gets it upstairs. With the schools that have offered him, including the military academies, I highly doubt any of the QBs on our roster presently would have been offered.

Lindsay Scott = Russell Sheperd all over again... unfortunately... Biggest waste of talent in the history of college football... Les Miles should be fired for that too..

I don't know if Scott is 5' 11" or 6' 0". Drew Brees is 6'0". Just sayin.

Doug Flutie, Michael Vick... He'll be fine if he has the QB smarts and athleticism.

If we lose Scott to Tulane, LSU recruiters need to kick themselves:

SPORTSNOLA

I don't really care what type of QB he is; he's a proven winner.

Is Kyler Murray a fair comparison?

Thanks

True or false: Lindsey Scott is a 5 star if he was 6'3?

I really hate the notion that a good qb has to be 6'2+ and about 220-230. It's a very archaic way to look at things. Especially in college where things can break down and fall apart very quickly. NFL is a pocket game and college is all across the place. But yet players like Drew and Russell Wilson have had success while being undersized. Of course they are a rare case but these are guys at the elite level.

In college I'd rather take a qb who can stand in the pocket and make passed but if need be be can roll out extend the play. A solid pocket passer without good wheels is handcuffed to one major skill set. Getting the ball out his hand. If no one is open he's screwed.

Of course if it comes down to having to depend on the clutch play passing I'd rather have the pocket qb but it's not like Scott is a bad passer. The pros just outweigh the cons imo. In short, I hate when guys are completely over looked because they are too "short."
