I saw Reagan on campus in 9/80.

He walked by Mike's cage and actually shook my hand. Pretty cool. His Secret Service detail weren't impressed.

I almost t-boned LBJ's limo back in the 60's. He was making a visit to NASA and I was on-site but needed to get to our off-site location. I was trying to get out just as the barricades going up so I was zig-zagging around in the Nassau Bay area trying to get on the west bound road. I thought I had made it and came screaming up to NASA Rd 1 just as the big black limo went by. A couple of the escort motorcycle cops looked at me funny as they whizzed by.

That's what I'm talkin about.

Politics aside, seeing a President in person is something I've never done and it's on the ole Bucket List.

I've only seen Bush at LSU when he came to dedicate the War Memorial on the Parade Grounds. That was pretty cool but not the same.

quote:

The LSU War Memorial, which sits in front of the Memorial Tower on the LSU Parade Ground, was dedicated on Oct. 8, 1998, in memory of those who gave their lives in military conflicts from World War II through the present day. The LSU Alumni Association raised the money necessary to construct the memorial and then devoted it to the university. Former President George H.W. Bush was the guest speaker for the formal dedication ceremonies.
