(AP) -- Sometimes, the best coach is the one you've already got.
Take Oklahoma.
The Sooners wisely stuck with Bob Stoops, even when many in this what-have-you-done-for-me-lately world questioned whether he was the guy to lead them back to the promised land.
Well, look where the Sooners are now.
Two victories away from a national championship.
It's a lesson other schools would do well to heed.
Hey, Nebraska, any regrets about firing Frank Solich? Hey, Tennessee, think y'all were a little too eager to dump Phillip Fulmer?
And, in the latest example of expectations run amok, Georgia handed Mark Richt a pink slip after he won nearly 75 percent of his games over a 15-year career.
Oklahoma is having no regrets about sticking with the coach who led them to a national title in 2000 and eight conference titles since then, even when he had the occasional stumble such as last year's 8-5 season that ended with a blowout loss to Clemson in the Russell Athletic Bowl.

Exactly, in our case this is not a true statement.

Sometimes better results will come from a better coach

except for those 9-10 ngames we win every year......no matter what the scheme, wont work without blocking and an accurate qb....both players-not coaches

Ruining the program by bringing in a top 3 recruiting class and returning a team loaded with all americans.

Im not a huge Miles fan but this is just stupid. From what golden age did he lower us all from? LSU has never been a dominant program. These last 12 years are the best 12 year stretch in our history. To say he is ruining the program makes no sense.

And all those recruiting classes have been crucial in our battle for 3rd in the SEC West last few years ....it's called development

Bob stoops has been to 4 national title games maybe 5 this year. He's also had about 5-6 other BCS games. Les has been to 2 national games and only 1 other BCS game. Yes we are in a tougher conference but OU had more of a reason to stick with BOB. LSU is slipping under LES.

You have not followed LSU much over the passed 4 years.
Go back and watch a little closer.

He wins 9-10 games every fricking year. That is hardly "ruining your program".
I bet you want Curley Hallman back.

I heard college juniors were more developed than college sophomores, just what I heard though. The bulk of the talent on those 3rd place finishers will be more developed next year than they were this past year, that's just me being logical though.
But yeah, the program is DOOMED! RUINED! We should just concede the 2016 season.
Good god some of you guys are whiny little bitches.
