I have been waiting years for this day to come... Finally able to cancel that pile of shite spotty internet service
I really hope more areas have access to fiber soon to shut out cox.. They know that some ppl have no choice so refuse to fix problems when they arise.
LUS speeds are rock solid and don't crash at peak times like cox did for me.

I really wish LUS was in my area. Can't wait to get rid of cox.

It was honestly one of the most satisfying phone calls I've ever made in my life.
I have been calling them for over a year complaining about terrible service & constant crashes and they never resolved the problem.

Grow or die. They refuse to move forward so eventually someone else will. They bank on their monopoly even though it no longer offers the same protection it once did.

Do they do anything in Duson now?....I see that supposedly they cover .01% of Acadia Parish.....if they could just run that sweet fiber to Rayne I'd be happier than a pig in shite.
I guarantee you that if they would cover Rayne and Crowley (by some miracle) they would probably switch damn near every Cox customer and a lot of satellite customers too.
I'm sure they have people smarter than me that can tell you why all that isn't financially feasible for them now .....I'll keep wishing while you frickers are pulling down 100MB and I'm lucky to get 20 on Cox when I'm supposed to get 50.

That should be illegal

That's the 1 gig service (that I'm getting at a promo rate for 1st year)
Honestly, unless you're running most of your equipment through wired gigabit connections you probably won't benefit too much over the 100/100 service. I might switch back down once my promo runs out
FWIW, LUS just started offering a 2 gig service as well... Extremely expensive ($300 per month) but shows what fiber is capable of

I wish there was fiber available in Pensacola. I think it's only available for businesses so far.

did LUS expand their area?
I am literally not even 1/4 of a mile outside of their area.. stinks.. been wanting to get them forever..

They must have... My subdivision is not in city limits so we've never had access to it until recently. Someone in my hood works for LUS and pushed really hard for it.

I have had LUS fiber for almost fours years and I cannot remember more than one outage. I had Uverse in Houston and it was ok but LUS has been phenomenal. Cox sucked In 3 different cities I tried it.

LUS is Lafayette's city-owned system, correct?
Certain congressmen, and I won't name names here, are trying to outlaw such community services. Obviously, they are on the take from players like Cox and Comcast.

Wow. What modem do you use? My own modem can only handle 343 mbps.

I don't have problems with my Cox Internet.
Cox is planning to roll out fiber in BR in the next couple of years.

No doubt. Cox and bellsouth/att delayed the rollout of LUS fiber by a couple of years with lawsuits originally. Cox and bellsouth also ran countless negative TV ads leading up to the election to move forward with the project.

I'm assuming you mean router right? With LUS, the modem is in a box outside my house where it receives the fiber input and sends an cat6 Ethernet cable into the house.
The speedtest I posted was on a wired connection. My wireless speeds do usually top out around 350-400 ish . I'm running a couple of Netgear AC routers in my network atm.
