If you added up White lake, Atchafalaya, PAC, PAL, Biloxi, Rockefeller, and Delta you get roughly 500k acres. We have about 4 million total acres of marsh. If you throw in another 150-200k acres of state owned property scatted below the saltwater line it brings the total up to about 15%.
That is a pretty generous estimate. I would even be willing to say it could creep up on 20%. But even then, not all of it is accessible. Parts of Rockefeller are closed at times. Some of the WMA's include open water bays and lakes, ect ect.
