So, are you saying you are one of the "elite" ?
Nah, but it's a lot cheaper and more convenient for me to have the herbs I use frequently growing in my back yard. I love fresh herbs for certain dishes. I don't grow my own veggies, but I love to frequent farmer's markets when I can. The squirrels and birds destroy my tomatoes and homegrown tomatoes in the summer are like gold to me. I love them. A caprese salad with homegrowns and fresh basil from the yard is a treat. I don't make my own fresh mozz.

My fruit trees were struck by a freeze and I'm hoping for a comeback. I'm going to miss my Meyer lemons this year.
I don't have any cattle, pigs or chickens, but I do buy local farm eggs, pork and beef when I have the opportunity. Good stuff. I made some meatballs with fresh pork and beef from a local joint a few months ago and damn, they were good. Expensive, though. Fresh eggs are just so damn good. Store bought are good, but I can tell a difference and it's a delicious difference.
Anything else?
